Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC)

Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) is a two-year institution providing quality education programs for transfer to four-year colleges and universities.

As part of the Virginia Community College System (VCCS), SVCC offers a full range of academic, technical, vocational, and continuing adult education courses. In addition to two-year degree programs, SVCC offers four-year degrees in a variety of fields in conjunction with Longwood University and Mary Baldwin College. SVCC’s Workforce Development Services (WDS) aligns education and economic development initiatives to extend workforce development courses, training, and programs into the community.

WDS prepares the emerging workforce by providing students with greater access to career options and serves employers through flexible and customized training. Displaced workers also have the option of earning portable skills and credentials through this program.

WDS also works closely with business and industry in the Southside Virginia area to ensure that their training needs are met and that available workers have the skills they need for entry-level positions.
