General Incentives

The following general incentives are applicable to commercial or manufacturing companies residing in Greensville County’s Enterprise Zone.  For a complete listing of all incentives available through the joint Greensville-Emporia Enterprise Zone Program click here.

Job Creation Grants

Job Creation Grants (JCG) are available to businesses located in a VEZ that create at least four net new permanent full-positions over the base calendar year. These positions must meet wage and health benefit requirements set for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Access more information about qualifying for a JCG here (PDF).

Real Property Investment Grants

Real Property Investment Grants (RPIG) are available to businesses looking to create, rehabilitate, or expand upon a building or facility within the VEZ for commercial, industrial, or mixed-use. New construction projects must invest at least $500,000, and rehabilitation and expansion projects must invest at least $100,000. Access more information about qualifying for an RPIG here (PDF).

Permit and Utility Fee Waivers

To help encourage businesses to relocate to Greensville County, Greensville County will also waive a number of initial fees. This can include the required building permit and zoning fees for commercial and industrial development locating in the Enterprise Zone, as well as required water and sewer tap fees for industries and commercial establishments. Machinery & Tools Tax Grant

Greensville County will provide a grant equal to the machinery and tools taxes, up to 100 percent for 5 years or 50 percent for 10 years. For more information on the machinery and tools tax grant, download the Greensville-Emporia Enterprise Zone document. (PDF).

Real Estate Tax Grant
