Electric

Dominion Energy – one of the nation’s largest power producers—provides electric service to Greensville County. Dominion Virginia Power is headquartered in Richmond, Virginia, and serves 2.4 million electric customers across 30,000 square miles in Virginia and North Carolina. The Company's regulated electric portfolio consists of 19,453 MW of generation capacity over 6,400 miles of transmission lines, and nearly 57,000 miles of distribution lines throughout Virginia, North Carolina, and West Virginia. Dominion has an excellent track record of service and one of the best transmission reliability records of any power provider.

Dominion operates a diverse mix of power-generating resources consisting of company-owned nuclear, fossil, hydro, pumped storage, biomass and solar facilities. Dominion Virginia Power is a regulated company, and the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) sets all rates.

With its recent rate reduction, Dominion Virginia Power’s typical monthly industrial rates are more than 30 percent below the national average – a real plus for manufacturing companies heavily reliant on power.

Water and Wastewater

The Greensville County Water and Sewer Authority (GCWSA) provides public water and wastewater services to most of Greensville County and several nearby communities. The County’s primary water supply comes from the Nottoway River.

GCWSA oversees the acquisition, construction, operation, and maintenance of water systems, sewer systems, and sewage disposal systems. Any structure located within 200 feet of the public right-of-way, in which public water or sewer mains are located, is required to utilize GCWSA services unless a non-user status is granted by the Authority.

The Greensville Utility System operates four wastewater treatment plants around the County. These treatment plants cover approximately 39 miles of water lines and 45 miles of sewer lines, treating and delivering one million gallons of water per day. The sanitary sewer system collects and treats approximately 600,000 gallons per day.

Connection fees, based on meter size and estimated water and sewer use, will apply and can be provided by contacting the GCWSA here.
