Environmental Permitting

Environmental permitting in Greensville County originates from the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Through its Central Office and six regional branches, the DEQ issues permits, conducts inspections, and monitors and enforces environmental regulations regarding storm water management, air quality, water quality, water supply, and waste management.

The DEQ also oversees a variety of environmental activities, such as improving the ability of businesses and local government to protect the environment and offering technical and financial assistance for air and water quality improvements.

Information regarding air quality, air permits, or other environmental matters can also be provided by the Virginia DEQ's Piedmont Regional Office website here.
